Sometimes I’m surprised how easy it is to get my tires squealing.

Funny thing is, when I’m trying to do one, it’s a lot harder. When I’m not, it’s pretty easy to chirp them. But that said, such is the way with everything in my life.

- I can’t aim a basketball, but I can guess pretty well.

- I can’t get off a decent slap shot (disgrace of Canada, right here) unless I’m taking such a run at it I don’t have time to think.

- I can’t play darts effectively unless I’m drunk.

- I can do “insert job description task here” in record time, but the second I stop to think about how, I’m on Oppo.

...and so it goes. I overthink things.

That’s more of a “Yellow light” feeling to me.

When I’m stocking shelves or pulling product or whatever, if I turn my brain completely off, I do amazing. If I think about what I’m doing, I end up having to correct silly mistakes during my final once-over.

Same thing. The only thing I can let myself think about when I’m doing something along those lines (in my case it’s more carpentry) is mental math. Eg I’ll set myself a stopwatch, and every time I go by I’ll hit the lap, and until the next time I go by I’ll be calculating averages and ETA’s for completion. I can fly through with minimal mistakes if I do that. If I think about how, it just turns into “this sucks I don’t wanna”.

So tire squeals aren't normal? I do it a lot without trying....

Your GP is a 3.9L, no?

Close, 3.8L. But I did it with the pt cruiser (non-turbo) as well... and my parent’s ‘00 Malibu....so...it's probably the way I drive?

Thanks for undermining my theories :/

The 3.9 is a torquey sumbitch. The 3.8 is no slouch. The others... well, yeah I guess it’s the way you drive.

You’re welcome!

Seriously though, I managed to make them squeal on a dirt road. I'm still confused on that.
